The one retailer in Lombardy is a vape shop, which was beforehand a restaurant. Rural Lombardy is house to a number of lovely lakes together with Rideau Lake, Bass Lake and Otter Lake. The village of Lombardy is house to approximately 100 residents, with many more inhabiting the rural areas surrounding it. The village is located within the Idle and Thackley ward, Vapor Kits and within the newly revived parliamentary constituency of Bradford East-formerly Bradford North. Idle (L&BR) railway station was a brief lived railway station positioned just to the west of the western entrance to Thackley Tunnel some distance from Idle itself.
The primary ‘A’ Road via the village is the A657 Leeds Highway running from Shipley within the west to Greengates within the east and onto Leeds. Thackley Corner and a section of Leeds Road to the west are residence to most of the village’s shops, Vape Shop pubs and eateries. From Thackley Corner Town Lane heads south toward Idle and Bradford while Thackley Road runs north into a largely residential area. Further east and south along the canal is Idle Swing Bridge and Thackley Canal Bridges carrying the Airedale rail line over the canal a short distance east of the jap portals of Thackley rail tunnels.
